how can I control a Two wheel robot in gazebo if i have its urdf and stl files

I have urdf and stl files of a two wheel robot i wanted to control it using a differential drive plugin of gazebo i added a robot.gazebo file in urdf folder with differential drive plugin and included in robot.urdf using launch files I was able to load the model in gazebo but when i do rostopic list cmd_vel is not listed ? please help.
